Pinguicula debbertiana ‘Metallic Purple’ is a perennial heterophyllous plant that forms two leaf forms: a compact winter rosette with succulent leaves, and a summer rosette consisting of 20-30 leaves with sessile, glandular hairs. Native to San Luis Potosí, México, it was discovered in 1989 by Paul Debbert. The plants pictured are representative; you will receive a similar plant, and flowering is not occurring at the moment. Some plants may appear greener but will turn purplish under intense light.
Plants are shipped bare root in a plastic container to protect them. We ship on Mondays and Wednesdays to avoid weekend cutoffs. The plant size is about 0.75-1 inch in diameter. They have been growing under LED lights with day temperatures around 75–80°F and night temperatures 55–70°F. It is strongly recommended to use a heating pack during winter to protect against low temperatures; one heating pack per order is enough. Light can be provided by a sunny windowsill, T5, or LED; potting medium is Mexican Pinguicula mix; water should keep the soil moist; humidity 50-80%; temperature 55-85°F; feeding every 3-4 weeks with fish food or bugs; mature plant size around 1 inch depending on care; dormancy none, though a succulent state may occur in winter depending on temperatures.

Good solution. The little flies have disappeared. We were sure to mist/moisten the surface of each plant once a day for 4 or 5 days, after the initial application of the nematodes, to keep the little guys mobile and able to get to any remaining eggs. So, go for it!

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping. So glad she arrived looking as beautiful as i was hoping. Also had a surprise red arrow syngonium cutting that’s beautiful. Also customer service was amazing. Will definitely order from them again.
