This species belongs to the subgenus Meconostigma, which means it’s self-heading rather than vining—no poles, no sprawling, just a stately, upright habit. In the wild, P. maximum can form massive clumps over time, anchoring itself with a stout stem and robust root system.

Your plant will have acclimated at FGMN Nursery for at least 6 weeks before shipping, ensuring it’s strong and stable when it arrives at your door. All plants ship via 2-day shipping, year-round, in secure, insulated packaging to protect against temperature swings. While 2-day is included, we strongly recommend upgrading to 1-day shipping for the fastest, least stressful transit possible—especially during extreme weather.

During the height of summer or depths of winter, it’s normal for a leaf or two to yellow in transit due to temperature stress. This is purely cosmetic and does not affect the plant’s health. Minor blemishes or leaf loss can occur in shipping, but your Philodendron maximum will continue producing fresh, healthy growth once settled.
