The Farmight 1 Gallon Chick and Small Flock Waterer is ideal for inside the chick brooder or for small flocks of chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, and guinea fowl. The 1-gallon (128 oz) plastic waterer includes 2 pre-drilled holes, a handle, 1 anti-roost lid, 2 red horizontal nipples, 2 plastic cups, 2 plastic wingnuts, 2 rubber washers, and instructions. Light cannot pass through the waterer, preventing algae growth and reducing cleaning. The cups are easy for any fowl to use and will fill automatically every time your birds drink, with no tab to depress as seen on some other poultry watering cups.
When introducing the nipples to chickens, tap each nipple to release water and encourage pecking at the stainless steel pin, which will release more water. If birds struggle, you may try applying some sweet jelly to the nipples. For the cups, raise the bucket portion slightly so the cups do not touch the surface of the waterer’s resting surface.
