Dakota Reed Organic Peat Moss for Houseplants, 1 lb, is a highly concentrated organic soil amendment designed to support houseplant health year-round. Made from decomposed reeds and sedges from Lake Agassiz deposits, it offers a natural alternative to traditional peat. Its unique cellular structure resists further decomposition, helping the blend stay in soil longer while promoting nutrient uptake, healthier root development, and improved water retention. This material provides a natural source of humic acid and lowers soil pH, supporting vibrant foliage and flowers.
For established plants, lightly aerate the soil and blend Dakota Peat across the top 1–2 inches. For new plants, blend Dakota Peat into potting soil at a 20/80 to 50/50 ratio. Plant and water as normal. The peat is a highly decomposed organic matter, natural Humic Acid source and supports broad-spectrum soil microbial life; it has a low C:N ratio, making nitrogen readily available to microbes and does not promote fungal disease. For best results, water or foliar spray with Organic REV every 2–4 weeks.

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping.
