Benincasa Hispida, comúnmente conocida como planta de melón de invierno, calabaza cenicienta, calabaza de cera o calabaza blanca, es una enredadera anual de la familia Cucurbitaceae, nativa del sur y sudeste de Asia. Esta planta es una enredadera de rápido crecimiento que requiere apoyo para prosperar, y presenta tallos peludos y zarcillos para trepar. Las hojas son anchas, en forma de corazón y lobuladas.
El melón de invierno produce flores amarillas, con flores masculinas y femeninas que aparecen por separado pero en la misma planta. Los frutos son notables por su tamaño, a menudo superando las 30 pulgadas de largo y pesando más de 33 libras. La piel es gruesa y está cubierta con una capa cerosa, lo que ayuda a preservar la fruta durante meses. En el interior, la pulpa es blanca, ligeramente dulce y contiene semillas planas y ovaladas.

Good solution. The little flies have disappeared. We were sure to mist/moisten the surface of each plant once a day for 4 or 5 days, after the initial application of the nematodes, to keep the little guys mobile and able to get to any remaining eggs. So, go for it!

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping. So glad she arrived looking as beautiful as i was hoping. Also had a surprise red arrow syngonium cutting that’s beautiful. Also customer service was amazing. Will definitely order from them again.
