La ortiga es una planta muy viajera que se encuentra en América del Norte, Europa, el norte de África y partes de Asia.
A pesar de su picor, cuando se cocinan, las hojas pierden su efecto y contienen más hierro que las espinacas.
Una excelente adición a su cocina, perfecta para ensaladas o como sustituto de las espinacas.
Las semillas son pequeñas, por lo que se mezclan con arena de jardín para facilitar su siembra. Se recomienda aplicar un tratamiento de frío antes de la germinación.
Alta tasa de germinación, con brotes esperados dentro de 10 a 14 días.
Prepárese para cosechar sus ortigas entre 80 y 90 días a partir de la semilla, recogiendo las 4 a 5 pulgadas superiores de la planta para obtener el mejor sabor y nutrición.
