¡La fruta del Falso Madroño te sorprenderá con su fantástico sabor, una combinación de palomitas de maíz con mantequilla y algodón de azúcar! Es un árbol/arbusto frutal tropical a subtropical de tamaño pequeño a mediano y de rápido crecimiento, con pequeñas flores blancas que se asemejan a las de una planta de fresa. Produce montones de bayas rojas comestibles del tamaño de un bocado que se asemejan a las cerezas y maduran rápidamente. La fruta de la Muntingia es muy apreciada por aves y ardillas, pero no te preocupes, ya que fructifica tan prolíficamente casi todo el año que hay más que suficiente fruta para que todos disfruten en abundancia.
No encontrarás esta rara fruta en el mercado, ni siquiera en su área de distribución nativa, debido a su corta vida útil, por lo que recogerla del árbol y comerla fresca es imprescindible si quieres experimentar este sabor sano y exótico.
El Falso Madroño es fácil de cultivar y prospera con poco cuidado. La planta tiene sus raíces en América Central y del Sur, con su área de distribución nativa que se extiende desde el sur de México a través del Caribe y hacia el sur hasta Perú. Muntingia calabura también se conoce como Falso Madroño, Cereza de Jamaica, Baya de Algodón de Azúcar, Baya de Panamá, Árbol de Bajelly, Cereza de Singapur, Cereza de Sabah, Cereza de Panamá, Árbol de Jam y Calabura.

Good solution. The little flies have disappeared. We were sure to mist/moisten the surface of each plant once a day for 4 or 5 days, after the initial application of the nematodes, to keep the little guys mobile and able to get to any remaining eggs. So, go for it!

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping. So glad she arrived looking as beautiful as i was hoping. Also had a surprise red arrow syngonium cutting that’s beautiful. Also customer service was amazing. Will definitely order from them again.
