La palmera datilera pigmea (Phoenix roebelenii), originaria del sudeste asiático, es una palmera compacta y elegante que suele alcanzar alturas de 1,8 a 3,6 metros. Presenta frondas plumosas y arqueadas y un tronco esbelto, lo que la hace perfecta para jardines pequeños, patios y espacios interiores. Su exuberante follaje verde crea un ambiente tropical, y la planta produce pequeños dátiles negros. Si bien estos dátiles son comestibles, no se consumen comúnmente debido a su pequeño tamaño y escasa pulpa, pero sí le aportan un toque ornamental.
Esta palmera datilera pigmea prospera en climas tropicales y subtropicales, pero tolera heladas suaves. Prefiere suelos bien drenados y se adapta bien a diversos tipos de suelo, desde arenosos hasta francos. El riego regular es esencial, especialmente durante la fase de establecimiento, aunque las plantas adultas pueden tolerar cierta sequía. La palmera datilera pigmea disfruta de pleno sol o semisombra, y las plantas de interior deben colocarse cerca de ventanas luminosas para recibir suficiente luz. Requiere una poda mínima, principalmente para eliminar las hojas muertas o amarillentas, y se debe tener cuidado de evitar las espinas afiladas cerca de la base de las hojas. La aplicación de un fertilizante equilibrado de liberación lenta durante la temporada de crecimiento promoverá un crecimiento saludable y un follaje vibrante.

Good solution. The little flies have disappeared. We were sure to mist/moisten the surface of each plant once a day for 4 or 5 days, after the initial application of the nematodes, to keep the little guys mobile and able to get to any remaining eggs. So, go for it!

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping. So glad she arrived looking as beautiful as i was hoping. Also had a surprise red arrow syngonium cutting that’s beautiful. Also customer service was amazing. Will definitely order from them again.
