El árbol de pitomba es un cerezo subtropical muy raro, hermoso, de tamaño pequeño a mediano, originario de las zonas costeras del sureste de Brasil. Está emparentado con el cerezo de Surinam, la pitanga, el cerezo del Río Grande y la grumichama. También se le llama pitomba-da-bahia, uvalha do campo, ubaid do campo o uvalheira en Brasil.
Esta singular fruta de color naranja brillante tiene una piel fina y tierna, y una pulpa suave, jugosa y de color amarillo dorado. Es aromática, ligeramente ácida y de sabor ligeramente resinoso. Se utiliza para elaborar jaleas, conservas y bebidas carbonatadas, o simplemente se recoge del árbol y se consume allí mismo.

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping. So glad she arrived looking as beautiful as i was hoping. Also had a surprise red arrow syngonium cutting that’s beautiful. Also customer service was amazing. Will definitely order from them again.
