El melón ratón, cucamelón o melón miniatura mexicano, es una planta herbácea perenne o anual, sensible a las heladas, originaria de México hasta Venezuela. Pertenece a la familia de las cucurbitáceas y produce frutos comestibles diminutos, del tamaño de una uva, ricos en fibra, antioxidantes y vitaminas.
Las vides de melón ratón crecen de 2,4 a 3 metros de largo y tienen un hábito de crecimiento similar al de los pepinos. Cubren rápidamente una pared o un enrejado, o pueden usarse como plantas de contenedor o en macetas colgantes. Sus flores amarillas florecen en primavera y verano y producen frutos verdes de 2,5 cm de largo con rayas longitudinales de color verde oscuro desde mediados de verano hasta otoño.
Estas diminutas frutas tienen una pulpa blanca y crujiente con un sabor a pepino y un toque de lima. Son muy nutritivas y se pueden comer crudas o encurtidas, o usarlas enteras en ensaladas o salteadas. Los melones ratón crecen a pleno sol o semisombra en suelos ricos en humus y con buen drenaje. Son resistentes en las zonas USDA 2 a 11, con protección contra heladas a partir de la zona 7 y temperaturas más frías.

Good solution. The little flies have disappeared. We were sure to mist/moisten the surface of each plant once a day for 4 or 5 days, after the initial application of the nematodes, to keep the little guys mobile and able to get to any remaining eggs. So, go for it!

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping. So glad she arrived looking as beautiful as i was hoping. Also had a surprise red arrow syngonium cutting that’s beautiful. Also customer service was amazing. Will definitely order from them again.
