El árbol de la baya de la doncella, también conocido como Rhacoma, es un arbusto frutal perenne originario de Florida. Pertenece a la familia Celastraceae o "enredadera de bastón", y está emparentado con el árbol del huso y el árbol agridulce americano. Un arbusto ornamental perfecto, sus tallos arqueados de hojas coriáceas producen pequeñas flores rojizas que se agrupan a no más de 3 metros de altura. Las flores y los frutos maduran durante todo el año, y las bayas se convierten en drupas dulces y de color granate brillante que devoran principalmente las aves. Las raíces y las hojas se pueden cosechar para preparar un té que promueve la micción y la salud de los riñones y la vejiga. Es un árbol raro y apreciado, especialmente en el sur de Florida, donde crece de forma natural en hamacas costeras. Estos arbustos de la baya de la doncella, tolerantes a la sequía, no toleran la sal, pero aún se pueden encontrar en zonas muy cercanas a la brisa marina. Crecen magníficos bonsáis y crean un paisaje colorido.

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping. So glad she arrived looking as beautiful as i was hoping. Also had a surprise red arrow syngonium cutting that’s beautiful. Also customer service was amazing. Will definitely order from them again.
