Se dice que la granadilla gigante (Passiflora quadrangularis, Parcha, Barbadine, Badea, Tumbo gigante) fue descubierta para el mundo occidental en la misma expedición que la piña, pero nunca llegó a tener un gran éxito.
En esencia, es una gran maracuyá que presenta la fruta más grande del género Passiflora. Para las personas de las Américas tropicales, el sudeste asiático y Australia, la granadilla gigante es familiar. Crece de forma silvestre en estas áreas en climas exuberantes y selváticos tropicales. En consecuencia, prefiere condiciones climáticas cálidas y húmedas día y noche.
La planta de granadilla gigante es una enredadera de crecimiento rápido, con una base leñosa. En la madurez, puede trepar hasta 15 metros de altura. Las flores son casi idénticas a las flores rizadas y en forma de fuegos artificiales de otras vides de la pasión, pero el doble de grandes. Las flores forman un fruto aromático similar al melón con pulpa rosada o blanca. Puede ser muy sensible a cualquier condición más fría que las tierras bajas tropicales, así que planifique en consecuencia.
La granadilla gigante también tiene un gran apetito por suelos profundos, fértiles y bien drenados. Una vez cosechados, los frutos de granadilla gigante se pueden comer, picar y combinar para ensaladas de frutas únicas, donde añade un encanto suave con un toque de sabor a lima.

Good solution. The little flies have disappeared. We were sure to mist/moisten the surface of each plant once a day for 4 or 5 days, after the initial application of the nematodes, to keep the little guys mobile and able to get to any remaining eggs. So, go for it!

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping. So glad she arrived looking as beautiful as i was hoping. Also had a surprise red arrow syngonium cutting that’s beautiful. Also customer service was amazing. Will definitely order from them again.
