La higuera Olympian ( Ficus carica 'Olympian' ) es una variedad tolerante al frío y excepcionalmente dulce, cultivada para rendir en climas fríos, pero lo suficientemente exuberante y productiva como para prosperar también en zonas cálidas. Descubierta en el estado de Washington, la Olympian produce higos grandes de piel violeta con pulpa rosada y azucarada, suave, jugosa y llena de sabor.
Estos higos son excelentes para consumir frescos, pero también se conservan en perfectas condiciones para secarlos, enlatarlos y preparar postres. El árbol empieza a dar frutos muy temprano, a menudo durante el primer o segundo año, y puede producir dos cosechas al año en regiones más cálidas.
Gracias a su vigoroso crecimiento, alta producción y resistencia al frío hasta -18 °C, la higuera Olympian es ideal para cultivadores de las zonas 6 a 10, incluyendo aquellos del sureste, noroeste del Pacífico o jardines interiores donde muchas otras higueras tienen dificultades. Además, es autofértil, fácil de cuidar y se adapta a macetas o plantaciones en el suelo.

Good solution. The little flies have disappeared. We were sure to mist/moisten the surface of each plant once a day for 4 or 5 days, after the initial application of the nematodes, to keep the little guys mobile and able to get to any remaining eggs. So, go for it!

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping. So glad she arrived looking as beautiful as i was hoping. Also had a surprise red arrow syngonium cutting that’s beautiful. Also customer service was amazing. Will definitely order from them again.
