Llene una maceta o bandeja para semillas con compost húmedo y compacte ligeramente la superficie. Introduzca con cuidado las semillas de dalia en el compost. No olvide etiquetarlas. Cubra las macetas con una bolsa de polietileno transparente inflada, sujeta con una goma elástica. Si se siembran en bandejas, cúbralas con una tapa de propagador.
Las plántulas germinarán en un par de semanas. Una vez que las hojas verdaderas hayan crecido, estarán listas para trasplantarse a macetas individuales. Sujete las plantas por las hojas y sepárelas con cuidado de la tierra.
Trasplanta con cuidado las plántulas a macetas de 10 cm (4'') con compost multiusos, apriétalas y riégalas abundantemente. A mediados de mayo, aclimata las plantas colocándolas al aire libre durante el día y metiéndolas en el interior por la noche. Plántalas en sus ubicaciones definitivas una vez que haya pasado el riesgo de heladas.
Obtendrás una maravillosa mezcla de diferentes formas y colores de flores de las plantas resultantes.
