La ashwagandha, también conocida como cereza de invierno o ginseng indio, es una hierba medicinal anual de la familia de las solanáceas. Se cultiva ampliamente en la India y es originaria de zonas de Oriente Medio, la península india y el Himalaya.
La ashwagandha es una planta anual o perenne de corta duración con hojas elípticas verdes y pequeñas flores blancas en forma de campana. Las flores crecen en cápsulas con forma de linterna que contienen cerezas de color rojo brillante con docenas de semillas diminutas. La raíz está lista para cosechar entre 150 y 180 días después de la siembra, justo cuando las bayas se han formado y las hojas han comenzado a amarillear.
La ashwagandha es ampliamente conocida por sus propiedades medicinales en la medicina ayurvédica, siendo la raíz la parte más utilizada. Tomada en té o tintura, se cree que reduce la ansiedad y la depresión, además de ayudar a alcanzar la claridad mental y fortalecer el sistema inmunitario. Estudios demuestran que sus posibles efectos medicinales se deben a la presencia de alcaloides y lactonas esteroidales en la planta, que promueven efectos antiinflamatorios, antitumorales, antiestrés y antioxidantes. ¡Es una planta medicinal excelente para el jardín de cualquier herbolario!
La ashwagandha es una hierba esencial en nuestro jardín medicinal y bosque comestible. Cosechamos cuidadosamente sus raíces en otoño, desenterrando la planta entera y separándolas de la base. Retiramos las bayas rojas (vainas) de sus envolturas y secamos al sol las raíces y las semillas por separado.

Good solution. The little flies have disappeared. We were sure to mist/moisten the surface of each plant once a day for 4 or 5 days, after the initial application of the nematodes, to keep the little guys mobile and able to get to any remaining eggs. So, go for it!

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping. So glad she arrived looking as beautiful as i was hoping. Also had a surprise red arrow syngonium cutting that’s beautiful. Also customer service was amazing. Will definitely order from them again.
