Zamia Furfuracea 'Cardboard Palm' seeds offer an indoor-friendly tropical option. Although called a Cardboard Palm, these plants are cycads that can thrive indoors.
To start germination, pre-soak the seeds in hot water for 24–48 hours. Then place them in a moist medium such as sphagnum moss or perlite inside a zip-top bag and keep in a warm spot over 70°F. Alternatively, plant the seeds in a nursery pot and cover with a zip-top bag. Once germination occurs, transplant into a planter and keep the soil consistently moist. If you don’t plant right away, store the seeds in a cool, dark place. These seeds are listed for the 2026 growing season. For best results, use the following to sow: 12 Cavity Greenhouse or Planter with Humidity Dome, Soil Pods, Liquid Fertilizer. My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping. So glad she arrived looking as beautiful as i was hoping. Also had a surprise red arrow syngonium cutting that’s beautiful. Also customer service was amazing. Will definitely order from them again.
