The Whiskey River Heritage Octagonal Handle is the octagonal version of our most popular handle. It uses a curvy hickory single-bit pattern designed for axes with a taller eye (Connies, Jerseys, etc.), though it can fit other axes. The pattern came from an old steel pattern found on eBay and was used to turn this handle. The description notes that the axe, as it comes, measures 31 inches, and the palm swell is meant to be cut down after hanging to remove any marring or damage from hanging.
The edges of the palm swell curve upward to give you more grip when swinging. This is one of those handles that looks good in pictures but reveals its full value when you work with it. 31” overall; Eye: 2 7/16” x 7/8”; Shoulder: 2 1/2” x 7/8”. Note that this is smaller than our regular 30C handle. As we get this pattern dialed in we may enlarge it.

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping. So glad she arrived looking as beautiful as i was hoping. Also had a surprise red arrow syngonium cutting that’s beautiful. Also customer service was amazing. Will definitely order from them again.
