Easy to grow with proper sun, water, and warmth, this heirloom yields large fruit, 40 Lb. For growing, plant in a sunny location with well-drained loamy soil, enriched with organic matter. Water consistently to keep the soil moist but not waterlogged, and mulch around the plants to conserve moisture and suppress weeds. Space vines about 6 feet apart, and thin seedlings to 2-3 per hill or 2-3 feet between plants in rows.

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping.
