Vietnamese Perilla Seeds Shiso Frutescens
Vietnamese Perilla seeds yield a compact Shiso (Perilla frutescens) plant with smaller leaves and a stronger, aromatic flavor than Japanese perilla. The leaf topside is deep green, while the underside is deep red-purple. Often grown as an ornamental garden accent, this herb is traditionally cooked with seafood, and leaves change color from green to purple over time.
Flavor is described as a blend of cinnamon, mint, and clove with overtones of cumin. It is edible and used across Asia, including in Japanese cuisine: salads, tempura, sushi garnishes, noodles, and soups. The plant attracts butterflies and pollinators and is suitable for herb gardening or microgreens. Seeds germinate in 7–21 days. This variety is related to Japanese perilla but distinct from most marketed shiso, and it is sometimes called Red Mint.

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping. So glad she arrived looking as beautiful as i was hoping. Also had a surprise red arrow syngonium cutting that’s beautiful. Also customer service was amazing. Will definitely order from them again.
