Utah Yellow Sweet Spanish Onion seeds are a non-GMO heirloom Allium cepa variety bred for western climates. This long-day yellow onion is noted for producing large bulbs—often over a pound—with strong storage capabilities and is well suited to west coast climates and mid-northern states. The pack includes 2 grams of seeds and the crop typically requires 100–115 days to mature.
Relatively easy to grow, with moderate pink root tolerance, this onion is a cool-hardy vegetable. Direct sow 6–8 weeks before spring frost, or about 4–6 weeks before autumn frost; seeds may also be started indoors for early starts. My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping.
