The Terra Cotta Red HDPE 55-Gallon Rain Barrel with Spigot blends with terra-cotta planters and red brick homes. Made from high-density polyethylene, it can stay outdoors in winter without downspout modifications. Heavy-duty screening keeps mosquitoes out, and plastic fittings expand and contract with the barrel to help prevent leaks. Because these barrels were repurposed from pre-used overseas food barrels, there may be slight scratches and a residual odor that dissipates after a few full barrel-fill cycles. The barrels are cleaned with a PH-balanced, environmentally friendly soap so the collected water can immediately be used on plants without harm.
Dimensions are 38 inches high by 22 inches wide by 22 inches deep, with a 12-inch opening and a weight of about 18 pounds. The unit is BPA-free and designed for 55-gallon use. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping.
