Table Queen Acorn winter squash (Cucurbita pepo) is an organic, tender annual heirloom. The ribbed fruit is about 6 inches by 4 inches and weighs roughly 1–2 pounds, with a small seed cavity and a hard green rind. The flesh ranges from light-yellow to deep-orange. The bush-type plant grows about 3 feet across and 10–12 inches high, is very vigorous and prolific, and tolerates poor soil conditions. It provides beta-carotene and is a good source of potassium, niacin, and iron.
For cultivation, provide deep mounds of organic matter, rich soil, and even moisture. Frost sensitivity means using mulch to warm soils in early spring and row covers to protect during the growing season. Start seeds indoors 3–4 weeks before last frost or sow directly when soils reach 70°F. Harvest when stems shrivel or skin can no longer be pierced; cut with 2–3 inches of stem, cure in the sun for 10 days, then store in a cool, dry place in a single layer to prevent rot. Days to maturity are 58–90; full sun; spacing after thinning 12–18 inches; approx 25 seeds per pack.

Good solution. The little flies have disappeared. We were sure to mist/moisten the surface of each plant once a day for 4 or 5 days, after the initial application of the nematodes, to keep the little guys mobile and able to get to any remaining eggs. So, go for it!

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping. So glad she arrived looking as beautiful as i was hoping. Also had a surprise red arrow syngonium cutting that’s beautiful. Also customer service was amazing. Will definitely order from them again.
