These indeterminate plants thrive in full sun and nutrient-rich, well-draining soil. They mature in about 65–70 days and yield a steady, abundant harvest. Growth needs include fertile, organic-rich soil with compost, and a soil pH of 5.5–7.0. Water deeply, 4–6 inches at 7‑day intervals. Sow seeds in flats 6–8 weeks before the last frost, thin to 2 inches apart after the first true leaves, and harden off before transplanting. My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping.
