They thrive in full sun and in loam or sandy soils high in organic matter with good drainage and a pH of 6.0–7.0, requiring heavy, even watering for best development. Start seeds indoors 3–4 weeks before the last frost or direct-sow once soil reaches 70°F; germination takes 6–18 days. Days to maturity range from 80 to 118 days, with 90–100 days typical.

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping.
