Natural Slate Rounds are sourced from an Upstate NY quarry. Each coaster is approximately 4 inches in diameter with a natural edge and EVA feet on the bottom to prevent surface scratching. They are available to buy individually or as a set of 6, with options in the drop-down menu. An optional add-on lets you choose Oil or Soapstone in the style drop-down menu to use to write on your slate.
Food-grade mineral oil is applied to each coaster per order to protect the slate and darken its appearance to a sleek black. Without oil, the slate has a chalk-like look and fingerprints may show from natural oils; oil creates a darker finish. We include a before-and-after photo to show the difference, and you can request no oil during purchase if you prefer. You can also buy the oil separately and apply it yourself HERE. If you choose Slate & Oil Application, please allow an additional 24 hours to ship, as it needs to air dry before shipping. Only a pea-sized drop is needed per application. Food-grade mineral oil is safe to put on surfaces you eat from and helps maintain the slate's integrity and color variations. To keep the slate protected, wipe with a drop or two of oil twice a year or as needed.

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping. So glad she arrived looking as beautiful as i was hoping. Also had a surprise red arrow syngonium cutting that’s beautiful. Also customer service was amazing. Will definitely order from them again.
