The Rose Apple Tree is part of the Myrtaceae family (without any actual relation to roses or apples). Native to East Indies and Malaya, it is also known as the plum rose tree, malabar plum tree, or poma rosa tree.
Its yellow, mealy flesh can be eaten raw or cooked, and its creamy-white flowers can be candied to eat or cut to decorate. You can prune the tree into a dense hedgerow or living fencepost, as the Guatemalans do, or let the Rose Apple stretch its canopy to its 40 ft. potential. My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping. So glad she arrived looking as beautiful as i was hoping. Also had a surprise red arrow syngonium cutting that’s beautiful. Also customer service was amazing. Will definitely order from them again.
