Root Guard Gopher Basket for 3 Gallon Plants offers a humane, durable barrier that keeps gophers from reaching roots. It uses sturdy hexagonal wire to block the overland route more effectively than chicken or aviary wire. To install, place the basket in the plant hole with the green wire above ground, then insert the plant and backfill with soil.
Opening is 3/4" across the flats of the hexagon. Steel wire strand is 20-gauge and galvanized after weaving for strength and corrosion resistance. Because the gopher wire is hot-dipped galvanized after weaving, it will last 6-10 years. Open size is 12" diameter x 9" deep. Seams are 30-gauge galvanized sheet metal.
