Purple Top White Globe Turnip is a time-tested variety with smooth, round roots and a mild, sweet flavor. Roots reach about 4 inches in diameter, with purple tops, white bottoms, and crisp white flesh. The greens can be cooked like spinach or added to salads. It thrives in full sun and well-draining soil, matures in 50–60 days, and tolerates cool weather, making it suitable for spring and fall plantings. It’s easy to grow in beds or containers, with regular harvesting yielding tender roots.
Plant in loose, moderately fertile soil with a pH of 6.5–7.0 and water moderately. Turnips prefer cool weather and daytime temperatures around 60–65°F. Direct-sow 4–6 weeks before the last frost and repeat every 2 weeks through mid-summer for a steady harvest. Roots are best at 3–4 inches; greens can be harvested young. Store roots in cool, moist conditions; greens and roots can be frozen. Height 14–22 inches; days to maturity 45–65; full sun; spacing after thinning 4 inches; seeds per pack about 250.

The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping.
