The Ponderosa Lemon, also known as the American Wonder Lemon, is a Citrus limon × Citrus medica hybrid in the Rutaceae family, originating in the USA. It produces exceptionally large fruit—lemons that can weigh up to two pounds—and a bold, tangy flavor. First discovered in Maryland in 1887, this variety features distinctive purple flowers and dark green, glossy, evergreen leaves with a lemon aroma when crushed. The tree is compact and bushy, typically reaching 8–12 feet, suitable for containers or small gardens.
Fruits have a thick, bumpy bright yellow rind and juicy, tart flesh with a strong lemon flavor, ideal for juicing, cooking, baking, marmalades, and candied zest. The tree is a heavy producer and blooms purple flowers; it bears flowers and fruit simultaneously throughout the year, peaking in summer and winter. Leaves are dark green, glossy, evergreen, releasing a lemon scent when crushed.

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping. So glad she arrived looking as beautiful as i was hoping. Also had a surprise red arrow syngonium cutting that’s beautiful. Also customer service was amazing. Will definitely order from them again.
