Pinguicula “Penny” is an in‑house hybrid developed a few years ago. This butterwort turns purplish under strong lights and is typically covered in dew, helping it trap gnats. The leaves display a striking purple and green contrast, making the plant stand out. You’ll receive a plant similar to the photo; some plants are greener at first but can turn purplish over time with intense light.
Plants ship bare root in a plastic container for protection. Orders are sent on Mondays and Wednesdays to avoid weekend delays. Plant size is about 1 inch in diameter. It is advisable to include a heating pack in winter (1 per order) to protect against cold during transit. Mature size is approximately 2 inches, depending on care. Dormancy is none, though the plant may go succulent in winter depending on temperatures.

The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping.
