Pinguicula kondoi is a perennial carnivorous butterwort that forms summer and winter rosettes of succulent leaves. The epithet kondoi honors Professor Katsuhiko Kondo for his research in carnivorous plants, and its closest relative appears to be Pinguicula rotundiflora. Plants shown are representative; you will receive a similar specimen, currently not flowering. It ships bare root in a plastic container and measures about 0.5–0.75 inches in diameter.
To protect the plant during colder periods, a heating pack is strongly recommended—one per order. Ships on Mondays and Wednesdays to avoid weekend cut-offs. Light should come from a sunny windowsill, a T5 fixture, or LED lights. Potting medium is Mexican Pinguicula mix. Water the soil to keep it moist; humidity should stay about 50–80%. Temperature ranges from 55–85°F. Mature size is about 1 inch with proper care; dormancy is none, though winter warmth can trigger succulent behavior.
