Pinguicula ibarrae (Tlanchinol, Mex) is a perennial carnivorous plant that forms winter rosettes of smaller leaves. This homophyllous species was discovered near Tlanchinol, Hidalgo, Mexico, during Sierra Madre Oriental explorations and is dedicated to Señor Adolfo Ibarra Vazquez, the first to collect and cultivate it. The plants shown are representative; you will receive a similar specimen.
Plants ship bare root in a plastic container to protect the plant; if you need soil, please select the Bare-root + soil option. It has been grown under LED lights with daytime temperatures around 75–80°F and nighttime around 55–70°F. Mature size is 4–6" depending on care. Light should be a sunny windowsill, T5, or LED; potting medium is Mexican Pinguicula mix; feeding is fish food or bugs every 3–4 weeks; keep soil moist and maintain humidity between 50–80%; temperature range 55–85°F. There is no true dormancy, though the plant may go succulent during winter depending on temperatures. We ship on Mondays and Wednesdays to avoid weekend cutoffs. A heating pack is recommended in winter; 1 heating pack per order is usually enough.
