Pinguicula esseriana, also known as Agua de León, is a perennial carnivorous plant with heterophyllous leaves. It forms winter rosettes and broader, non-succulent leaves in summer. The plants shown are representative, and you will receive a similar specimen that is not flowering at the moment. Some plants may appear greener, but under intense light they can turn purplish. Plants are shipped bare root in a plastic container and measure about 0.5–0.75 inches in diameter. They have been grown under LED lighting with day temperatures around 75–80°F and night temperatures around 55–70°F.
Orders ship on Mondays and Wednesdays to avoid weekend cutoffs. A heating pack is strongly recommended in winter; one per order is enough, and we are not responsible for plants that die if not heated during transit. Care basics: provide bright light from a sunny windowsill, a T5, or LED; use Mexican Pinguicula mix; feed every 3–4 weeks with fish food or bugs; keep soil moist; humidity 50–80%; temperature 55–85°F. Mature size about 0.75 inches, and there is no dormancy, though the plant may enter a succulent state in winter depending on temperatures.

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping.
