Pinguicula esseriana is a perennial heterophyllous plant. It forms winter rosettes of about 35–40 succulent narrow leaves, and in summer it develops about 30 thinner, broader leaves. The species commemorates German botanist Professor Karl Esser.
Some plants are greener than others and may turn purplish under intense light. The plant is shipped bare root in a plastic container and measures about 0.5–0.75 inches in diameter. It has been grown under LED lights at daytime temperatures of 75–80°F and nighttime 55–70°F. It prefers a sunny windowsill with Mexican Pinguicula mix, keeps soil moist, and humidity 50–80% with temperatures 55–85°F. Feeding every 3–4 weeks with fish food or bugs supports growth. Mature size is about 0.75 inches depending on care; no true dormancy, but it may enter a succulent state in winter. We ship on Mondays and Wednesdays; heating packs are recommended in winter (one per order).

Good solution. The little flies have disappeared. We were sure to mist/moisten the surface of each plant once a day for 4 or 5 days, after the initial application of the nematodes, to keep the little guys mobile and able to get to any remaining eggs. So, go for it!

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping. So glad she arrived looking as beautiful as i was hoping. Also had a surprise red arrow syngonium cutting that’s beautiful. Also customer service was amazing. Will definitely order from them again.
