Pinguicula emarginata x gypsicola is a carnivorous butterwort sold as bare-root plants. The photos show representative plants; you will receive a similar specimen that is not flowering at this time. They are shipped bare-root in a plastic container to protect them during transit, and orders are dispatched on Monday and Wednesday to avoid weekend cutoff. Each plant measures about 1 inch in diameter.
Care and growing conditions: Provide full light and plant in Mexican Pinguicula mix. Keep the soil moist and water regularly. Feed every 3–4 weeks with fish food or small insects. Maintain 50–80% humidity and a temperature range of 55–85°F. Mature plants reach about 2 inches with proper care. There is no formal dormancy, but cold winters may trigger a succulent state depending on temperatures. A heating pack is recommended during winter to protect the plant from low temperatures.
