Pinguicula cv. BCP Crystal is a carnivorous butterwort, possibly a cross between P. immaculata and P. agnata. The plants pictured are representative; you will receive a similar plant, and they are not flowering at the moment. They are shipped bare root in a plastic container for protection, with shipments sent on Monday and Wednesday to avoid weekend cutoff. These plants measure about 0.5 to 0.75 inches in diameter, and a heating pack is strongly recommended during winter to protect against cold in transit (one pack per order).
Care basics include plenty of light from a sunny windowsill, T5, or LED lights; Mexican Pinguicula mix as the potting medium; feeding with fish food or bugs every 3–4 weeks; keeping the soil moist; maintaining 50–80% humidity; and keeping temperatures between 55 and 85°F. Mature plants reach about 1.5–2 inches, and while there is no formal dormancy, they may enter a succulent state during winter depending on temperatures.
