Pinguicula conzattii is a perennial heterophyllous carnivorous plant with distinct summer and winter leaves. In winter it forms a rosette about 0.39-0.79 inches in diameter with 70-100 succulent leaves clothed with glandular hair; in summer the rosette comprises 4-6 carnivorous leaves densely clothed with sessile and stalked glands.
It was discovered by Alfred Lau in the Sierra Madre del Sur, Oaxaca, Mexico, and named in honor of Mexican botanist Don Cassiano Conzattii (1862-1951), who studied Oaxaca's flora for 50 years. The plant will be shipped bare root in a plastic container to protect it and is not flowering at the moment. The plant size is about 0.4-1 inch in diameter, depending on its current phase, and you may receive a plant in a succulent phase. We ship plants Monday and Wednesday to avoid the weekend cut-off. A heating pack is strongly recommended during winter; one heating pack per order is enough to protect from low temperatures.
