Pinguicula Colimensis Lithophytic Plant
Pinguicula Colimensis Lithophytic Plant
Pinguicula colimensis is a perennial heterophyllous lithophytic plant that produces distinct summer and winter leaves. In winter it forms a bulb-like rosette with about 25–130 spathulate to oblong-spathulate succulent leaves, while the summer rosette has about 6–10 green to green-yellow carnivorous leaves with sessile and stalked glandular hairs. It is among the largest orchid-flowered butterworts and is named for the Mexican state of Colima, where the holotype was collected. The plants pictured are representative, and you will receive a similar specimen. It is not flowering now, and it will ship bare root in a plastic container; shipments occur Monday and Wednesday to avoid weekend cut-offs. Current plant size is about 0.5–1 inch in diameter, and you may receive a bulb-like plant.
Care and handling details: The plant prefers a sunny windowsill with bright light from a T5 or LED setup. It uses Mexican Pinguicula mix as potting medium. Feed with fish food or insects every 3–4 weeks and keep the soil moist. Maintain 50–80% humidity and temperatures between 55–85°F. Mature plants reach about 2–5 inches and dormancy in winter takes the form of a bulb-like rosette. For winter transit, a heating pack is strongly recommended (one pack per order) to protect the plant from cold; we are not responsible for losses without heating.

from 71 reviewsReally nice soil and awesome service
Never used because I ordered the wrong Water Filter. Mike was very helpful with the return and refund. Excellent Customer Service.
Great service. Soil is what I wanted and it off loaded exactly where I asked.
Plants are doing really well with this soil. Deep and rich looking soil, plants seem really happy. Much more cost effective (and no plastic bag waste) compared to buying bags of soil mix from a store.
Thank you for shipping so soon. Great service
The quality of the craftsmanship is superb! My formula one fan absolutely loves it!!!!
Worked like an absolute charm!
These markers were perfect for ones that we were replacing. The quality is great and they seem sturdy. The gold detail stands out and is visible from a distance. Shipping was very fast.
Good solution. The little flies have disappeared. We were sure to mist/moisten the surface of each plant once a day for 4 or 5 days, after the initial application of the nematodes, to keep the little guys mobile and able to get to any remaining eggs. So, go for it!
Plant was well packed and shipment was very fast. Received a very nice fully rooted plant in the pot!
