Matt's Wild Cherry Tomato yields tiny, bright red fruit in cascading clusters. Each fruit is about ½ inch in diameter with a juicy, sweet flavor. This indeterminate heirloom produces plentiful harvests, maturing in roughly 60–70 days. Plants thrive in full sun and well-drained soil, and are well-suited to containers, raised beds, or trellised setups. They resist early blight and have some late blight resistance.
Soil and care: Prepare fertile soil rich in organic matter with a pH of 5.5–7.0; add compost before planting. Soak soil 4–6 inches deep at seven-day intervals. Planting steps: sow in flats 6–8 weeks before the last frost, then thin to 2 inches after the first true leaves; harden off before transplanting. Harvesting: pick fruits when they yield slightly under finger pressure; skins are thin, so pick early to reduce cracking. My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping.
