Marlberry (Ardisia squamulosa) is an evergreen shrub or small tree that thrives in Central and South Florida ecosystems, including coastal strands, hammocks, and pine rocklands. It stays green year round and produces fruit that serves as a natural food source for birds and small animals, while the fruit is edible for humans. When planted in a row, its dense foliage creates an attractive edible hedge and wildlife shelter.
Fragrant blossoms may be creamy white or pinkish, with distinctly yellow anthers, appearing in dense terminal or axillary panicles. Leaves are thick, dark green, and glossy, ranging from lanceolate to elliptic, reflexing upward on petioles and arranged alternately with entire margins. Bark is smooth, thin, and whitish-gray. Fruits start as small green to reddish drupes and mature to shiny black, each bearing a single hard seed.

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping. So glad she arrived looking as beautiful as i was hoping. Also had a surprise red arrow syngonium cutting that’s beautiful. Also customer service was amazing. Will definitely order from them again.
