The Pickering Mango Tree is a fast-growing, disease-resistant fruit tree in the Cashew family (Anacardiaceae). It’s thought to be a cross between the Carrie and Irwin varieties and is called a “condo” mango for its compact habit. When mature, it reaches 10 to 15 feet tall with a 15-foot canopy, but it can be kept at 6 to 10 feet high in a container. This small, grafted tree begins producing fruit at a young age.
Leaves stay evergreen and form rosettes; pinkish-yellow flowers appear in late winter to early spring. Fruits mature by midsummer, 4–5 months after flowering, weighing about 0.75–1.5 lb. Skin color blends green, yellow, blushing pink, and purplish hues; the yellow-orange pulp is firm, creamy, and mostly fiberless. The fruit is very sweet with coconut-mango or piña colada notes and can be eaten fresh or added to fruit salads, smoothies, or desserts. Mangoes prefer well-draining soil, full sun, and moderate moisture; Pickering mangoes are hardy in USDA zones 9–11 with some frost protection until established.

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping.
