The Maiden Berry tree, also known as Rhacoma, is a perennial evergreen fruiting shrub native to Florida. It belongs to the Celastraceae, the “staff-vine” family, and is related to the Spindle Tree and American Bittersweet tree. As an ornamental plant, Maiden Berry features arching stems with leathery leaves and small reddish flower clusters, typically not taller than 10 feet.
Blooms and fruits mature year-round, and the berries develop into sweet, bright maroon drupes that are consumed primarily by birds. Roots and leaves can be harvested to make a tea for promoting urination for kidney and bladder health. Native to Florida and especially common in south Florida hammocks by the coast, Maiden Berry is drought-tolerant but not salt-tolerant, and it can be used in bonsai or colorful landscaping.

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping. So glad she arrived looking as beautiful as i was hoping. Also had a surprise red arrow syngonium cutting that’s beautiful. Also customer service was amazing. Will definitely order from them again.
