The lemongrass plant is a graceful, clump-forming grass with long, slender, arching leaf blades. It is a perennial in tropical and subtropical areas but grows as an annual in colder climates. The most frequently used variety is Cymbopogon citratus, a highly fragrant species native to Southeast Asia.
It is valued for insect-repelling properties, especially against mosquitoes, and its oils are used in disinfectants and as cleaning agents. It is rich in iron, calcium, and vitamin C and is widely used as a medicinal herb for digestive problems, high blood pressure, and fever reduction. In Ayurvedic medicine, lemongrass is used as an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antifungal. The plant can be harvested year-round and grows about 2 feet tall by 3 feet wide in full sun or partial shade, in loamy, moist soil high in organic matter.

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping.
