GrowersHouse Dicyphus Hesperus Whitefly Control uses Dicyphus hesperus, a predatory mirid bug, to suppress whiteflies. As a generalist predator, it also feeds on moth eggs (before they become a looper), Two Spotted Spider Mites, and Thrips once populations are established, and it can persist in the crop by feeding on pollen and other prey.
Storage is perishable and should be kept at 50-59 °F (10-15 °C). For best results, release in the early morning or late evening: open the container, gently shake the bugs onto foliage near whitefly infestations, then place the container upright among plants to release the remaining bugs. Application rates: Preventative 1-2 per square foot; Moderate infestation 2-4 per square foot; Heavy infestation 4-6 per square foot.
