GrowersHouse Dacnusa sibirica Leaf Miner Control uses the parasitic wasp Dacnusa sibirica to target leaf miners at the larval stage, especially first- and second-instar larvae. The adult female lays eggs inside the leaf miner larva, and a new parasitic wasp develops inside the leaf miner pupa. This natural predator helps reduce leaf miner populations without harming beneficial insects or plants and is safe for humans and pets.
Use recommendations specify application rates by infestation level: 1-2 wasps per square foot preventatively, 2-4 per square foot for moderate infestations, and 4-8 per square foot for heavy infestations. For best results, release when the pest population is low, in the early morning or late afternoon when temperatures are cooler, near infested plants, and away from direct sunlight. Releases should continue weekly until the pest population is controlled. The product is available in a 250 ml bottle containing 250 adults and is registered for use in the USA.
