Giant granadilla (Passiflora quadrangularis), also known as Parcha, Barbadine, Badea, or Giant tumbo, is a large passionfruit variety. It is a fast-growing vine with a woody base and can climb up to 50 feet tall. As the largest fruit in the Passiflora genus, its flowers are nearly identical to the frilly, firework-shaped blooms of other passion vines but double the size.
Common in tropical Americas, Southeast Asia, and Australia, the plant favors warm, humid conditions year-round. It thrives in deep, fertile, well-drained soil and is sensitive to temperatures colder than tropical lowlands. The fruit develops an aromatic, melon-like flesh that ranges from pink to white. My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping. So glad she arrived looking as beautiful as i was hoping. Also had a surprise red arrow syngonium cutting that’s beautiful. Also customer service was amazing. Will definitely order from them again.
