Gamboge Tree Garcinia xanthochymus, known as Gamboge Tree, False Mangosteen Tree, Yellow Mangosteen Tree, or Sour Garcinia Tree, is a tropical fruit tree in the Clusiaceae family native to Southeast Asia. This evergreen species features glossy dark-green leaves and showy, bright yellow fruits. In ideal conditions it can grow up to 30–50 feet tall, but it can be pruned to a smaller size for home gardens and ornamental use.
Its round to oval yellow fruits have a tart flavor and pulp used in curries, chutneys, and sauces. The fruit is rich in vitamin C, antioxidants, and dietary fiber. The tree yields resin that is bright yellow or orange in color, used as a natural pigment for art and a traditional remedy for digestive issues and inflammation.

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping.
