Florida Cranberry Plant Hibiscus sabdariffa is an edible and medicinal hibiscus. Common names include Florida Cranberry Plant, Roselle, Jamaican Sorrel, Red Sorrel, Fleur de Jamaica, and Gongura. It belongs to the Malvaceae family, originates in West Africa, and is widely cultivated in tropical and subtropical regions. Its bright red calyces are harvested for teas, jams, sauces, and beverages, delivering a tart cranberry-like flavor.
It thrives in warm climates and is well suited for Florida gardens. The shrub grows without irrigation in any soil type, is drought tolerant and disease resistant, and reaches 4–8 ft tall with a similar spread. It features red stems, dark green deeply lobed leaves, and yellow flowers with a red center. Calyces are the primary harvest and are used in hibiscus tea, jellies, syrups, and as a cranberry substitute; leaves are edible.

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping. So glad she arrived looking as beautiful as i was hoping. Also had a surprise red arrow syngonium cutting that’s beautiful. Also customer service was amazing. Will definitely order from them again.
