Hand-knotted Persian Qashqai Nomadic Khorjin Saddle Bag is a hand-made rug-style saddle bag dated to the 1970s. It has a natural wool pile and foundation and measures 17” by 44”. The construction features a long center bridge with a slit and is typically woven in one long piece, assembling by weaving the pouch faces, the back, and the center bridge, then folding and stitching the end panels.
Originating from the Qashqai tribes of Fars Province in southwest Persia, the bagface reflects ancient nomadic culture from about 100 years ago. Qashqai saddlebag rugs commonly feature dark reds, saffron golds, and rich blues, with vegetable-based dyes historically used. These saddlebags were used on horses and camels; photos are taken under natural light. All hand-knotted rugs are professionally washed and treated and individually inspected before leaving the warehouse (Item ID= 1486).

My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping.
