Dwarf Peacock Ginger Plant Kaempferia (Kaempferia angustifolia ‘Silver Striped’) is a rare, multi-use ginger native to Southeast Asia. This low-growing plant doubles as a groundcover with shimmering silver-striped foliage and aromatic rhizomes, used in herbal remedies, teas, and regional cooking. It belongs to the same family as turmeric and galangal.
The plant is valued for its mildly spicy flavor in teas and culinary infusions, and its rhizomes are traditionally used for digestive, anti-inflammatory, and adaptogenic purposes in folk medicine. My new babay arrived safely and only lost two little leaves so far. The first one I ordered from different shop arrived with two leaves attached that fell off within ten minutes of unboxing and 22 leaves that had came off during shipping.
